How to extract company data from a pitch deck?
AI assistant streamlines the deal intake process by automatically extracting and pre-filling application data from pitch decks received as documents outside the Dealum platform. There are two ways to do this.
- Uploading the pitch deck manually
- Navigate to Funnel from the left-side menu
- Click on “Pitch deck” on the right side or open “Add company” dialogue and select “Pitch deck” from there.
- Forwarding an email to Dealum with the pitch deck attached
If you frequently receive pitch decks via email, you can set up an application email address for any funnel step of your choice. Pitch decks forwarded to this address will be processed automatically using the AI assistant and a company application will be created in the funnel step based on the pitch deck information.
To set up an application email address for a funnel step:
- Navigate to Funnel setup (Settings > Preferences > Configuration > Funnel)
- Click the ⋮ (three dots) icon next to the funnel step where you want to add applications by forwarding pitch decks
- Select “Application email address”
- Tick “Enable application email address”
- Choose if the address will accept pitch decks from any sender or only emails of deal room members with full edit companies access
- Click "OK"
- Use the Save button at the bottom of the window to save your changes
After saving, the generated email address will be visible in the same dialogue. You can copy and use this address to forward pitch decks.

Allowing companies to use AI assistant to pre-fill their application from a pitch deck
If you’d like companies to be able to use the AI assistant to extract information from their pitch decks when applying to your deal room, you can enable this option in your funnel setup.
For that:
- Navigate to Funnel setup (Settings > Preferences > Configuration > Funnel)
- Click the ⋮ (three dots) icon of the funnel step that has an active application link
- Select “Application link”
- Check the “Allow using AI assistant” checkbox
