Template documents

Template documents can be used to automatically upload documents to members, company applications, funding rounds, and data rooms.


Template documents feature is not included in all subscription plans. For more information, please contact your account manager or Dealum support.



To set up template documents for company applications:

  • go to Funnel setup
  • click on "Documents" button available in the top right corner
  • select whether the template is for application documents, data rooms, or funding rounds
  • select the funnel step(s) where the document(s) and/or folder(s) will be added once a company application is created in or moved to that step
  • add necessary documents, links, and folders
  • If you wish for the document to be visible to the company, check the "Share with company" checkbox. Otherwise, it will be an internal document.



Once you've set up template documents for application documents or data room, these documents will be automatically uploaded to any (non pending) applications that are created in or moved to the target step, including applications where the founders haven't been invited or joined.


Data room feature is not included in all subscription plans. Data room template documents can only be set up if the data room feature is turned on in the deal room. For adding the data room feature to your subscription, please contact your account manager or Dealum support.


For funding rounds, the documents will be automatically uploaded whenever the deal room creates a funding round. Documents will not be created when the deal room joins an existing round or the company creates a funding round.



To set up template documents for members:

  • go to Member groups setup
  • click on "Documents" button available in the top right corner
  • select the member groups for which the document(s) and/or folder(s) will be added
  • add necessary documents, links, and folders
  • if you wish for the document to be visible to the members as well, check the "Share with member" checkbox


The documents will be uploaded whenever a member is added to the target group the template has been set up for or joins via an application link. Documents will also be added to pending members.


How to set up digital signing for template documents?


You can request digital signing for the template documents. To set this up, follow the instructions above to upload the template document and when you've uploaded the document, select to edit it. In the edit dialogue you can set up digital signing.



The document will be uploaded to the company application, data room, funding round, or member profile and signature will be required from users who can see the document.
