What is two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Two-factor authentication adds an additional layer of security to the authentication process by making it harder for attackers to gain access to a person's devices or online accounts. Even if the victim's password is hacked, it is not enough to pass the authentication check, as another (second) authentication is also required.

You will need to use an authenticator app. Any app you prefer to use should work. However, we have tested and confirmed the following apps to work with Dealum 2FA:
Authy
1Password
Microsoft Authenticator
Google Authenticator

How to enable 2FA?

You will have to be logging in with your email and password to use 2FA. When you are using the "Log in with Google" or "Log in with LinkedIn", you will have to use the 2FA setup they have implemented.

To set up 2FA for your account on Dealum, follow these steps:
Go to https://app.dealum.com/#/home
Click on your profile icon on the top right corner
Click on "Personal settings"
Click on the "Security tab"
Go to "Two-factor authentication" section
Click on "Set up 2FA"
Enter your Dealum password
Click on "OK"
Connect your app with either scanning the QR code or by manually entering the code into the app
You will get a verification code from your app
Enter the code on Dealum
Click on "OK"

Please note that when having issues with the app, you should contact the app's support instead of Dealum support, as we can only help you with issues within Dealum.

How to log in with 2FA?

After you've set up 2FA, you will have an added verification step in your login process.

Enter your email and password
Click on "Log in"
Open your authenticator app and get the code
Insert code into the verification box
Click on "Verify code"
If the code was right, you will be logged in after that

What do I do if I cannot access my 2FA anymore?

Please contact Dealum support by using the Chat bubble in the bottom right corner, or by sending email to support@dealum.com.
