Investor updates in Portfolio

If you're using the Investor Plus subscription, please see this article instead for adding investor updates to your personal portfolio.

You can store and share investor updates of portfolio companies with your deal room members by posting these updates in the Updates tab of the respective portfolio company.

To do that:

  • go to the Portfolio page
  • click on the portfolio company name
  • go to the Updates tab
  • click on "New update"

When posting an update, you can:

  • add text
  • attach files, images and video links
  • select the month the update is about
  • assign a risk assessment rating
  • include a snapshot of company's reporting data (this will be attached only when reporting data for the selected period exists in the Reporting tab)

Updates can be posted by deal room members who have full edit access to Portfolio or to the specific portfolio company (lead investors of the company).

If your deal room has AI features, you can also extract investor updates and company reporting by uploading files and sending/forwarding investor update emails to Dealum.

Investor updates are visible only to members who have invested in the specific portfolio company (except for limited access investors) and to members who have full edit access to Portfolio. Investors of the company are able to read, like and comment on the updates. Investor updates you add to Dealum are not visible to the company.

When risk assessment ratings have been assigned to the updates, you can also see them directly from the Investments view in your Portfolio. The status is shown only when the company has investor updates and the risk rating of the last update is shown if the last update is newer than 4 months.

You can also find an Updates tab from the main portfolio view. This functions as a feed of recently posted investor updates across all portfolio companies.
