Communicating with deal rooms is important, as this lets you to forward information, or ask specifying questions regarding your application.

How to "Chat" with deal rooms
How do I know there's a message or reply from a deal room?
To send messages or ask questions, you will have these 3 options available in Dealum:
Application chat
This is likely to be your main way to communicate with the deal rooms. You can write messages in Chat and get replies from the deal room.
Application chat will only be accessible to you, and the deal room you applied to.
Nobody without access to the application can see the application chat, so the application chat is visible to:
Your company team members
The deal room's members who have access to your application and right to chat with companies
Funding round chat
Functions like the application chat, but includes all funding round participants. Funding round can have multiple participating deal rooms
Manually added external participants will not be able to see Chat, as they do not have an account in Dealum. Read more about Funding.
Nobodywithout access to the funding round can see the funding round chat, so the funding round chat is visible to:
Your company team members
All participating deal rooms' members with access to the funding round and right to chat with companies
Emails
Emails are used mostly by the deal room to send information like updates or requests for more information to the companies. As a company, you do not have the option to initiate an email (the only exception here is when you are the funding round lead, you can send emails to round participants). This means you can receive emails from deal rooms, and reply to some of them.
When a deal room has sent you an email, you can reply to it and a representative of the deal room who sent you the email will receive your reply.
Please do not reply to system notifications that include the notice "Please do not reply to this email." - it is usually seen at the end of the email
These emails are automatically generated and replying to these emails will not send an email to anyone.
Application chat
In order to send an application chat message to deal room, follow these steps:
Go to https://app.dealum.com/#/home
Click on company name
You will land on the Applications page
Find the application of the deal room you wish to contact
Click on "Chat"
A chat window pops up
Write your message
Click on "Send"
Funding round chat
In order to send a funding round chat message to funding round participants, follow these steps:
Click on Funding on the left side menu
Find the funding round you would like to message
Click on "Chat"
A chat window pops up
Write your message
Click on "Send"
If the "Chat" option is not available for you, this means there is nobody to send a message to (there are no participants in the round). You might want to look into how to share your funding round.
There's a variety of options to see that you've received a chat message to either application chat or the funding round chat.
For both chats, the following notifications will be available:
A notification on your Home page, in the section "Unread messages"
A notification in your "Messages" icon
If the message notification says "(Name) from (Deal room name) funding round sent a message to (Your company name)", it was sent to the funding round chat. If the message says "(Name) from (Deal room name) sent a message to (Your company name)" it was sent to the application chat.

The "Chat" icon is blue and accompanied by a dot on a chat with unread message
You receive an email (if your personal settings haven't disable it)
Emails can be configured in your personal settings. If you have altered those settings, an email might not be issued.
Email notification will not be sent, if you are online in Dealum at the time of receiving the message.
