What is a member profile?
Member profile is a collection of information about your background, investment history and interests, and other related data which is attached to your personal deal room and is visible in the deal room you’re a member of.
When you are joining a deal room where an member profile is required, you (or the organization you invest as) will be created a deal room which functions as your member profile. If you already have your own deal room where you have admin rights (full settings access), you can use your existing deal room as your member profile.
Each deal room that requires its members to have member profiles, may require a slightly different set of profile information. The information you submit to a specific deal room will be visible to members with ‘full edit’ members access and possibly to any other members of that deal room, depending on the configuration used in the deal room.
How can I update my member profile that is visible in a deal room?
To update your member profile:
- open the deal room where you want to update it
- navigate to the Members section from the left side menu
- click on your name
- choose "Update my profile"
If there is no Members section in the deal room, it means that you have not been given access to the members list of the deal room. Then you have to navigate to the Membership section instead to update your member profile.
If the ‘Update profile’ button is not available on your profile, it means that member profiles are not turned on for the access group you belong to in that deal room. You can update your contact information, such as name, primary email, LinkedIn, phone, and similar from your Personal settings. You can go to Personal settings from the menu that opens by clicking on your profile picture in the right upper corner of your screen.
How can multiple people use the same deal room as their member profile?
If you have a team member who would like to use the same deal room as you as their member profile (e.g. you represent the same VC fund or family office), you should invite them to the deal room you created with admin rights. To do that:
- open the deal room you’ve already created and are using as your member profile from your user home view
- navigate to “Members” from the left-side menu
- click on “Add Member” on top of the members list
- enter their email address, first name and any additional information you wish
- choose “Admin” for their Access
- keep the “Send invitation to member” checkbox ticked
- if you wish, add a personal message to the invitation email by entering it to the “Additional message to member” field
- click “Save”
Your team member should accept the invitation using the invitation link they receive with the email invite.
Once they have accepted the invite, they can start using the deal room as their member profile when joining other (e.g. investor group, fund, event or similar) deal rooms.
