Importing funding interests
Importing from another application
Importing from Excel
If a company you have previously invested in is raising another round and has submitted a new application to your deal room (or you have created a duplicate of their previous application), you can import funding interests from the previous application.
To do that:
Navigate to the Funding tab on the new application
In the “Funding interests” section click on the downward arrow at the top right corner
Choose “Import previous interests” from the menu
Select the application(s) you want to import interests from
Choose if you want to import also funding interest tags, interest amounts, and/or lead investor roles for funding members

This can be useful if you want to send funding round emails to members who invested in/were interested in the previous round or want those members to immediately have access to a private funding round you have created on the new application. After importing interests, you can message members and ask them to add/update the estimated investment amount for the new round or remove their interest if they do not plan to invest.
If you have collected funding interests outside of Dealum or exported them from another application, you can also import interests from an Excel.
To do that:
Prepare the Excel file for the import (see the instructions below)
Navigate to the Funding tab on the application you want to import interests to
In the “Funding interests” section click on the downward arrow at the top right corner
Choose “Upload interests” from the menu
Select the .xlsx file from your computer
The import should be successfully completed if your file was formatted correctly

The Excel file must contain columns with:
Investor type. This can take values: Member, Non-member, Group. If the investor type is Group and name matches with one of the funds set up in the deal room, the interest will be imported as fund interest. Otherwise, it will be imported as a non-member interest by a group of investors.
(Member) identifier which can be one or multiple of the following:
Investor name — column with full name.
First name and Last name — two separate columns with first name and last name. For group interests, name can be added to the First name column.
Email — column with the email address of a deal room member or an external investor/group.
If you have members with identical names in your deal room, please use email as the unique identifier.
Optionally you can also include the following columns:
Phone — phone number of the member/non-member/group. If the phone number you have added for a member in the excel file does not match with their phone number in the members list, the import will fail.
Number of investors — relevant only for non-member interest by a group.
Amount — interest amount, will be imported in your deal room’s primary currency
Hide amount — fill this column with value “Yes” for interests where you want the amount to be hidden from other non-admin and non-lead members.
Hide name — ill this column with value “Yes” for interests where you want the investor name to be hidden from other non-admin and non-lead members.
Lead — fill this column with value “Yes” for interests where you want to give the member/fund the round lead rights or indicate that a non-member is a round lead.
Tags — any tags you want to add to the funding interest. If you want to add multiple tags to the same interest, separate them using line breaks.
