Can companies see indicated investment interests and funding round information?

If no funding round has been created on an application, the company does not see investment interests marked in the deal room.

If a funding round has been created, it depends on the funding round settings what the company can see. Members of the lead deal room(s) room who have "view companies and create funding rounds" or higher companies access in the deal room and individual participants who have the round lead rights can control how much information about indicated funding interests is visible to the company. They can do it by editing the funding round details.

If the company's role has been set as "Observer", each participating deal room can choose whether the company can see only the total amount of investment interests that have been indicated by their members, names or names and contact information of their members who have marked investment interest.

If the company has at least observer rights in the funding round, they also get a notification every time a funding interest is added, changed or removed and can add information about funding interest from other investors. They are not able to invite those investors to join the funding round on Dealum however (the round lead rights would be needed for that).

Company can also be given the round lead rights which allows them to edit and remove indicated interests. With the round lead rights, company can see all funding information except for Participants discussion and funding round documents that have been added by investors without making them visible to the company.

Deal room members can see what is visible to the company by clicking on "Who can see this?" at the bottom of the Funding tab.

Can members hide the funding interests they mark from other members?

You can choose whether funding interests members mark in your deal room are always visible to other members, always hidden from other members or it’s up to members to decide whether they hide information about any of their funding interest or not.

You can configure the visibility of both, member names and estimated investment amounts for funding interests. To do it:
go to deal room settings
open the Preferences tab
scroll down to the Funding section
choose desired settings for “Funding interest identity” and “Funding interest amount”
click “Save” at the bottom of the window

To configure the visibility of member names, adjust the funding interest identity setting. You can choose from the following options:
Always visible — names of members who have marked funding interest on company applications in your deal room are always visible to other members.
Visible, allow anonymous — member names on funding interests are visible to other members by default, but members can choose to hide their name when marking funding interest by ticking the ‘hide name from others’ checkbox in the "My interest" dialogue
Anonymous, allow visible — the ‘hide name from others’ checkbox in the "My interest" dialogue is ticked by default when members mark funding interest, they can choose to untick it to make their name visible
Always anonymous — names of members who have marked funding interest on company applications in your deal room are always hidden from other members.

To configure the visibility of funding interest amounts, adjust the funding interest amount setting. You can choose from the same options:
Always visible — estimated investment amounts of members who have marked funding interest on company applications in your deal room are always visible to other members.
Visible, allow anonymous — funding interest amounts are visible to other members by default, but members can choose to hide their amount when marking funding interest by ticking the ‘hide amount from others’ checkbox in the "My interest" dialogue
Anonymous, allow visible — the ‘hide amount from others’ checkbox in the "My interest" dialogue is ticked by default when members mark funding interest, they can choose to untick it to make their funding interest amount visible
Always anonymous — estimated investment amounts of members who have marked funding interest on company applications in your deal room are always hidden from other members.

If you have allowed them to do so, members can control the visibility of their name and/or funding interest amount separately for every funding interest they add. Their names and amounts will always be visible to deal room members who have at least "view companies and create funding rounds" companies access and members who have been given the round lead rights for managing the funding interests on a specific company application/a specific funding round .

"My interest" dialogue = the dialogue members see after clicking on "Mark my interest" or "Edit my interest".

What is visible to other deal rooms that have joined the funding round?

Other deal rooms can see the same funding round information as you – funding round details, Participants discussion, Funding discussion with the company and funding round documents.

However, you can configure how much information they can see about funding interest indicated by your deal room members.
To configure it:
open the company application in your deal room that the funding round is connected to
navigate to the Funding tab
edit funding round details
adjust the setting for “Participant information shared with other deal rooms”
click “Update”

The visibility options you can choose from are:
Summary — members who have access to the funding round in other deal rooms can see how many members in your deal room have marked interest and their total estimated investment amount.
Names — members who have access to the funding round in other deal rooms can see names and estimated investment amounts of your members who have marked interest in the round (unless the member has chosen to hide their name and/or amount).
Names and contact info — members who have access to the funding round in other deal rooms can see names, contact info (email and phone) and estimated investment amounts of your members who have marked interest in the round (unless the member has chosen to hide their name and/or amount).

Who can see Participants discussion, funding round documents, and Funding discussion with the company?

Participants discussion, funding round documents, and Funding discussion with the company are visible to users who have access to the specific funding round. If private mode has been activated for a funding round, only funding round participants and deal room members with "view companies and create funding rounds" or higher companies access can see Participants discussion, funding round documents, and Funding discussion with the company in that specific deal room.

Funding discussion with the company is present only when the funding round has been made visible to the company. If the company can see the round, they can also see the funding round documents that have been made visible to them. Visibility of funding round documents to company can be configured separately for each document by the person who uploads the document or has the right to manage documents of the given funding round.
